August 19th: Dublin

On the 19th I had a free day in Dublin so I went around the city hitting up all the sights I had not yet been to!

Kilmainham Jail - lots of Irish Independence History here.  It was interesting to see the old jail and to hear about how those that were fighting for independence were treated.

August 18th: Celtic Heritage

On the 18th I went on a Celtic Heritage Tour.  I've been interested in Celtic heritage since I was quite young so I was very excited about this tour.  We went to the Hill of Tara:

St. Patrick who taught the people about Christianity

Ancient fertility statue - hug it = fertility; no I did not hug it.

We stopped at a very old Abbey:

Visited Trimm Castle:

Then we went to see The Loughcrew Tombs:

And we went to see two of the largest Celtic High Crosses!

Here is the art journal page I made after this tour:

It was a wonderful day filled with lots of history!  Thanks for stopping by today!!! "See" you soon.

August 17th: The Cliffs of Moher

Another one of the things I really wanted to do when I was in Ireland was to go see the Cliffs of Moher.  They did not disappoint - they were amazing and I loved being there.  Again, I could have spent all day there if I had the chance.  Here are some photos:

After the Cliffs of Moher we went to The Burren - a limestone rock covered area of the coast:

It was a good day but I was exhausted by the time we got back to Dublin since I had climbed all over the Cliffs.  If you get a chance to go to Ireland I would certainly suggest checking out the Cliffs of Moher!

Here is the art journal page from the day:
Have a great night everyone!  "See" you soon.
