I recently participated in a glitter ATC swap... "glitter" was the only directive. Here are some of my creations:
I thought this was fun; it was definitely a challenge to use glitter paper. I suppose I could use actual glitter or glitter glue, but I got hooked on using glitter paper. Glitter paper, is, by the way, VERY hard to glue onto. But, I was very happy with my creations and I hope that whoever they end up with likes them!

Art Every Day Month 2014
Did you know that November is art every day month?? This is probably the 4th or 5th year that I have participated. On the 1st of November I made some ATCs for a swap hosted by Rainbow Gecko Gallery - The swap is to make 7 ATCs in rainbow colors... here are some of what I made:
And since I was on an ATC roll I made another one just because I wanted to:
I REALLY enjoyed making these cards. Perhaps I should do ATCs more often!

Art Therapy ATC Swap part 1
One of the fun things I got to do at conference was to participate in an Artist Trading Card swap! The theme was "Art Therapy Dreams;" so, here are my creations....
My first dream for art therapy is "equality" - equality between art therapy and other professions, between men and women, between different races, between different sexual orientations; equality in the broadest sense of the word, for all people to be equal.
My second dreams is "research" - as a profession we are not the best at publishing research. I hope that this changes and more art therapists conduct research and publish their results.
My last dreams is "veterans" - I hope that I can do art therapy with veterans and find treatments that work for veterans!!
I will share the cards I received from the swap once I get back home!

DIY Postcard Swap May 2014
I participated in the DIY Postcard Swap and earlier this month the cards went out and then cards came in! When I went home to visit my family I found this card in my room:
Mom made me my own postcard! Here are all the cards she mailed out:
And here are some of the ones I was lucky enough to receive:
I love postcard swaps so much because they bring so much fun mail to my mail box (which is otherwise filled with junk mail).

A Few More Postcards
A while ago (a year...two???) I got this book:
Its an old Kotex booklet from 1962 that tells young ladies about growing up. I got it because I thought it would be good for art journaling. I finally used it! I used it to make a few postcards! Here they are:
That last picture was just a line drawings like the others above but I colored it in with Pitt Pens. They are quite different from what I normally do but I like them. Well friends I hope you have a wonderful week! "See" you on Monday!

Page in Mary's Journal
Today I wanted to share with you a page I created in my classmate Mary's Journal:
Its pretty simple, but I have been super busy and simple is about all I can muster recently. I am still creating - just taking less time to do so. Hopefully after finals (May 1st) I will have a bit more time to devote to art. I really miss it when I don't have much time for it.

FATA Cruise Art Journal Swap 1
On the Florida Art Therapy Association's (FATA) Conference Cruise I presented about art journaling swaps that I do with my cohort. As part of my presentation I decided to do a mini-swap while we were on the boat. So, I brought 3 journals:
And I asked people to make art in them and then pass them along to someone else that was on the boat for the conference. I collected them on the last day. The conference had art therapists, dance/movement therapists, social workers, artists, and several other professions in attendance and everyone was welcome to participate. Thankfully I had my classmates to help convince people to participate!
Today I wanted to share some of the photos from journal number 1 with you. All photos are posted with the signed consent of the artist that created the art.
Please come back tomorrow when I will be showing the art from Journal number 2!
