Last 2 Pages in My Sketbook Project Journal

Today I am going to show you the last two pages of my Sketcbook Project journal!!!

This last page was started in class when we were suppose to design a flag to represent our culture...but after I drew the TX flag and the paintbrush my teacher came over and said not to do it in my journal but to make it on a separate piece of paper.  So, then I added the circle stickers and the froggie - it now shows three of my favorite things: painting, Texas and Frogs!

Sketchbook Project Pages

Today I am going to share some of the art journal pages I have made in my Sketchbook Project journal. I made these while doing art with my mom on January 1st.

 I love that little gecko with the bow tie!

 This pink one is actually two spreads.. here is one:

 And turn the half page and it ends up looking like this:

When Clients Don't Show Up

Sometimes clients do not show up for their scheduled therapy session.  Usually when this happens I write notes or file notes or some other administrative thing.  Yesterday a client did not show up and the note writing was a bit out of control so I took a quick break and did the art that I was going to have my client do!  We were going to do coffee filter mandalas!!  I love this project - I've probably told you about it before.  Anyways... you decorate a coffee filter with watercolors or with water soluble markers and then add water to it.  They turn out something like this (at least mine did):

And if you put a paper under it, you get two pieces of art:

Isn't that AWESOME?

It was only a short 10 minute break but I REALLY enjoyed it.  I encourage you to try this!!  If you have kids or art crafty you probably already have both materials that you need.  Have fun!!

Texas ICADs 7-11 August

Hello friends - happy Monday.  I continued creating ICADs all the  way up through the 18th of August - even though the challenge officially ended at the end of July.  So, I wanted to share some of them with you.

My Last Day in Palm Bay

On Sunday we went to the beach for a walk!  It was so pretty and the water felt awesome!!

Hillary wrote in the sand ...she drew a heart and put "Emma" inside (that's her still-in-the-womb niece!)

After our walk on the beach we stopped in downtown Melbourne and went into all the shops!  I had my first Kilwins experience:

I got the toasted coconut and it was YUMMY.

After downtown we stopped at Barns & Noble since I had a 15% off coupon.  I am a nerd, so I got this:

Yep.. a DSM 5!  It was still super expensive after the coupon, but I figure it will be good for many years (hopefully at least!) and I will probably use it for paper writing this next year... and we may even need to purchase it for class (a not yet confirmed rumor).

The last thing I want to share with you guys is a picture of this awesome bag Hillary's mom made for me:

And it came filled with goodies:

A pink (of course) water bottle and a bag of snacks!  It is the perfect size... one of the inside pockets is the exact size of my Moleskin "notes" notebook:

And my liter size water bottle fits inside of it!  Woo!!

Lastly, I wanted to share with you guys the travel art journal pages that I did while on this trip:

 This last one is not really complete, but the background was just gesso over the original page... so I added watercolor to it while we were watching Harry Potter (can't remember which number... probably 3 or 4... we watched 1-4 this weekend!)

Art from the Weekend Workshop

During this past weekend workshop class I created a few pieces of art and I wanted to share them with you!   I made two pieces as part of the class.  I made them in my journal!!  

First, we had to identify out self-care network:

I'm really digging the watercolor with uniball pen on top lately!

Pages in Mary's Journal

The last journal that I got during our art therapy class journal swap belonged to Mary.  It was a regular journal with lined pages for writing.  I made a few entries into it, so I wanted to share them with you!!

I did another doodle page that did not get any color added to it:

But I ran out of time so that was all I did to those pages.

This was the last journal I got to work with during our mini-journal swap, but two days later we started our other journal swap which has 12 people!!  I am really looking forward to seeing the art from the current swap!!

ICAD Number 2

I am way behind on showing you my ICADs..but don't worry, eventually you will see them all!  So, I wanted to show you my second ICAD:

It flips open since I did not make it where I could write on the front - I had to write on the back!  Anyways, I really like how the card turned out and the art journal page too!!  Its got tons of layers because I could not decide what to do with that page for a long time - I kept adding little bits here and there...but its finally finished!!

This page was made by using art tissue paper to color the background pink.  Then I used Tombow watercolor markers on top to draw boxes and lines.  Then I doodled and added collage!  I really liked those crazy pants the girl has on!!

Anyways, the point is to be yourself and enjoy life!!

Pages in Oliva's Journal

Today I am going to share with you the pages that I created in Oliva's Art Journal!!  Inspired by the doodle and watercolor that I did in Chelsea's journal, I created this:

its all about that inner critic (little devil!!) that tells you that you are not good enough!!  I think this is something that everyone deals with.  Our human sexuality class is really making me think about how much we judge ourselves by other people's standards, and how hard we can be on ourselves.  I am really trying to be nicer to myself and to really appreciate and love myself and my body and be thankful for all that I am able to do!!  I hope that you guys can do this too!!

Pages in Chelsea's Art Journal

I already showed you one page that I created when I had my classmate Chelsea's Art Journal.  Today I wanted to show you the other three pages that I made in her book.  I did this doodle during our Human Sexuality class:

And then for some reason I had the desire to use dictionary pages so I made this page:

Then I handed off the journal to the next person and I got a new journal to play in!  I LOVE that we are doing a class swap.  Its great to see all the different styles.
